Plot

BASED ON A TRUE STORY
A girl, reduced to skin and bones, was sitting in front of a shack and when Erasmo saw her his heart began to beat fast under his jacket.
How can we get to know her? How can we help her?
How could he see a smile on that face? One day he thought of asking her if she could wash his shirt.

Author

Giovanni Zeverino was born in Santeramo in Colle (Bari) in May 1964. He fell in love with writing in the vernacular almost by chance, a love that led to his first collection, Atturne a fracére (Atturne in fracére), followed in February 2024 by Femmene in doppia faccia (Femmene in doppia faccia), dedicated to the challenging world of women. In 2022, he began entering literary competitions, immediately garnering excellent and widespread acclaim: around thirty podium finishes to date, in addition to dozens of Special Mentions and Prizes. In 2023, he also began writing poetry and short stories in the vernacular, finally dedicating himself to his first novel. Una camicia per un sorriso (A Shirt for a Smile) was published thanks to the collaboration between Giaconi Editore and the Premio Pastocchi, a literary competition in which Giovanni Zeverino won the 2023 edition of the vernacular section.
