Plot
In 1950s Florence, still scarred by the war, the great art historian Leonard Anderson grapples with the loss of his wife. Struggling with grief over the loss, he enlists the young antiques dealer Guido Scalera to find valuable works to buy and resell. On a journey through the central Italian countryside, Guido stumbles upon a mysterious painting in the ancient Ducal Palace of Urbania. From that moment, a series of inexplicable visions drives him to investigate the disturbing past of Isotta D'Este, daughter of Niccolò III, Lord of Ferrara, whose life is shrouded in betrayal and centuries-old secrets.
The Eagle and the Elephant is the portrait of a past that becomes alive and human, in which the forgotten voices of history speak again.
