Gesualdo's house is almost a fortress, mysterious and inaccessible, on the slopes of Mount Conero, and it hides a secret.
It's hard to escape the charm of this residence nestled in a setting of rare beauty. Inside the villa, along an underground passage, an ancient canvas tied to the history and culture of Recanati is discovered. The artwork is at the center of dark events, and so Carabinieri Captain Matilda finds herself solving a new, difficult and intricate case that will also test her emotionally.

Maria Rita Mazzanti was born and works in Recanati. She has written romance novels, children's books, and historical guides, with a particular focus on culinary traditions, which are beneficial to health.
